K
(Kyunghee) I (International)
F (Friendship) S (Society)
Cultural bridge among all students from many countries in KHU.
1)
It was built to encourage FRIENDSHIP among KHU students who
have various nationalities.
For overseas student it is difficult
to meet someone in other dept. Through KIFS, students
at GSP, Engineering dept. and others
can easily get to know each other.
2) It is to build a BRIDGE between overseas
students and Korean people. Even though international
students spend about 5 to 22 months in Korea, some of them
leave Korea
without facing any local
people. In KIFS, you can meet nice Korean students and they
may
invite you to their house parties, wedding and etc.
3) We aim to promote UNDERSTANDING about diverse
cultures. What you¡¯ve learned in
textbooks will become useful knowledge
by meeting people with various cultural backgrounds.
In other words, experience different cultures at school without
visiting other countries.
We
hold a monthly or bimonthly meeting with one topic country just
like today. In the meeting, we have time to learn and discuss
about the country. For example, in the first meeting held in
June, Pakistani students made a presentation to introduce their
country including history, economy, flora and fauna and so on.
Today, you will find out a lot about Vietnam.
Also, the KIFS members are invited to a regular field trip
every semester. This Saturday on September 30th, some of our
Korean members and most of international students are going
to an Amusement park with a support by CIE. Once in a while,
we hang out in Suwon or Seoul just to have fun! In July we
visited Kyunggi Provincial museum and in August we went to
Itaewon.
