The Graduate School of Art & Fusion Design is preparing for a progressive educational system in the area of design and art. The graduate school facilitates exchange between the departments and conducts the creative joint research through multimedia technology, high quality design skills, and practical training in the design area. Furthermore, the graduate school aims to provide world class experts equipped with excellent abilities in the art and design field by maximizing the diverse educa-
tional effects of related major areas of studies. It also aims to
- create a new paradigm of fusion culture,
- educate professionals in the era of a new millennium,
- produce experts equipped with practical abilities, and
- provide a specialized curriculum to meet the requirements of the information era.

To receive the Master's degree of Arts, a student must
1)complete 24 credit units,
2)satisfy the general requirements of the school for a professional degree,
3)pass the qualifying examination that the graduate school requires.

1) Department of Space Design
- Environment & Landscape Design
Landscape architecture is a synthesized and applied arts and science that contributes directly to public welfare by producing more comfortable living environment. The Major in Environment and Landscape Design aims to produce skilled environment and landscape designers capable of creating sound and sustainable public and private environments. The Major in Environment and Landscape Design has offered the Master of Design degree since 2003. In total, 8 students have received the Master of Design degree. Currently, 10 students are enrolled in the Master of Design degree program.

- Display Flora Design
Display Flora Design focuses on the sensibility and creativity based on the perception and knowledge of the beauty of nature by using natural materials. It is a living design which can be applied closely to our lives. All the arts and design are required to be environment-friendly in the 21st century. As Flora Design is based on nature and formative arts, it has great possibilities and infinite applications.
The Master's course in Flora Design at the Department of Space Design aims to establish a new field of design where tradition and modernity, space design and floral art work harmoniously in the design fields. It also aims to study history and the nature of art, collecting and analyzing advanced design information.

2) Department of Ceramic & Glass Art
- Ceramic & Glass Art Design
The educational goal of this major is to generate a comprehensive understanding of the visuality of Plastic Art and to support the increasing needs of creating design in the multi-cultural society.
This major aims to educate artists and professionals who can analyze and research current trends in art and ultimately develop a new vision that can realize possibilities through an experimental and avand-garde attitude.
Focusing on the research of Fusion Art in the future, the courses are arranged around the technical process of ceramic and glass art.

3) Department of Fusion Design
- Visual Media Design
A designer should have a wide vision in analyzing design trends that rapidly changes due to such developments as the Internet and new technologies.
In designer's pont of view, this department program aims into develop and create a new fusion style, that is, a design from one specific form transfered to a different one.

¡¤ Curriculum: Communication Sketching, Illustration Workshop, Advertising, Cyber Character Design, Moving Typography, Portfolio workshop


- Digital Moving Image Design
Since the movie was invented in 1895 by the Rumiere brothers, visual media has developed very rapidly. Not only for entertainment purposes, visual media has also become the main medium for communication such as news, documentary, and so on. Recently motion-picture art has been very popular and distributed more widely due to developments in technology and the Internet-so that its territory has expanded to non-professionals. It is very important to obtain the ability to express one's ideas in art-work using technologies that give entertaining factors especially when the trend is from verbal language to visual communication.

Due to the increasing demand, our program has extended to cover sophisticated and practical film-making including documentary courses that deal with all aspects of visual-arts from planning to final editing. This well organized program will enable students to understand and properly use digital technology, when they produce and edit stories.

4) Department of Fashion Art
The Fashion design field is growing and is not limited to just a product or garment in modern society. This major provides qualified fashion stylists with opportunities to work professionally, applying design theories in various fields such as display, advertising, movies, or theater with creative design concepts. Students can create certain images and work toward total coordination.
Students can be prepared for jobs such as display manager, shop master, show stylist, stylist at broadcasting company or living art, culture, fashion related stylist.

5) Department of Art & Design Planning and Management
- Art & Design Planning and Management
The new Millennium has already arrived with the 21st century, and the world has become a one fence-zone environment. It is not an exaggeration to say that our life, deprived of individualistic values, has become material-dominant.
The above phenomenon has been expressed in the fields of art and design. The major in Art & Design Planning and Management aims to nurture talented students in these demanding times by placing our focus on the overall and inclusive cultural understanding and helping them recognize the design field's highly value-added industry and enhance their ability to develop the industry.

6) Department of Performing Art
-Jazz & Contemporary Music
The ultimate goal of the program is to create new music of the 21th century through a study of classical music, Asian traditional music, popular music, and jazz. While the program emphasizes the popularity and commerciality of music, the students are also encouraged to combine them with experimental and borderless ideas for various classes and musical activities offered in the program. The curriculum not just includes all of the standard coursework, but is designed to prepare students for a personalized and independent career in the music industry. The skills acquired in the classroom and in practical situations qualify the graduates for a number of careers including professional composer, arranger, performer, music producer, film music director, recording engineer, sound designer, etc. Graduates of the program are also qualified to pursue educational occupations such as music instructor, private teacher, and professor. To extend practical aspects of the program and offer more career opportunities, the school investigates current trends in the music business and develops a new curriculum every year. In addition to the curriculum, the school provides master classes and private clinics with high-leveled music experts so that the program continually offers direct connections between the students and the heart of today's music industry.

- Edu Theater
Kyung Hee University offers the one and only academic educational theatre program in Korea that gives students the power to open new era of Drama/Theatre. Educational Theatre is a new process which uses theatrical techniques for all kinds of education(pre-school, kindergarten, elementary, middle school, high school, university, graduate school, on/off job training program, special Education).
Edu-Theatre(Educational Theatre) provides valuable courses to emphasize the uses of drama/theatre in all kinds of education for all generations. Unique courses, which include Theatre in Education, Drama in Education, Criticism, Global Networking, Play Making, Forum Theatre, Theatr/Drama History, Role Play Strategy, Drama Forms, Theatre Game, Drama Process Study, and Research & Study, are awaiting passionate students who want to change the world and their life through dramatic action.
