The primary mission of the department is to foster advanced practitioners or academicians in international business and research and development management area. Special instruction is also given to the students so that they can understand the world economy and international relations as well as obtain effective business communication skills and a good command of the computer. First of all, students are expected to be familiar with fundamental principles of business management though prerequisites such as finance, accounting, marketing, human resource management and production. In addition, the operating structure and principle of the computer-based information system will be emphasized through the case-oriented curriculum. Some of the relevant courses may include research methods, information marketing, supply chain management, global financial strategy, international marketing strategy, global HRM, system design and analysis, database and electronic commerce.

1) At least 24 course units of graduate level credit in International Management courses are required for the master's degree and 60 course units for the doctor's degree (including units completed in master course).


2) Students have to pass a qualifying examination.


3) Students must fulfill presentation, defense, and document requirements for the IM thesis committee.


4) A thesis advisor can be any faculty member from the IM Department.
