The research at Quality/Environment System Laboratory is focused
on the modeling and analysis of new product/service and process
design activities, with an quality/environment improvement.
An ultimate goal of the laboratory's research is to bridge
the gap between theoretical modeling and practice by equipping
quality/environment professionals with the proper methodological
tools.

Research Overview
Our research at the Supply Chain Management Laboratory at
Kyung-Hee University focuses on the study of various production
and logistics systems from raw material procurement to manufacturing
and distribution.
In particular, we have been studying the development of solutions
with various mathematical models, heuristics and AI such as
GA, expert system and neural network to support design, planning,
operation analysis, alternative evaluation and decision making
of the transportation system, automated warehouse and Flexible
Manufacturing System.

3) Management Science Laboratory

Research Overview
The research at the Management Science Laboratory focuses
on solving problems that arise in complex systems such as
manufacturing or communication systems. The method includes
the logical formulation, mathematical model construction,
testing and validation of results, and sensitivity analysis
processes involved in problem resolution. The tools used in
model building and analysis include various techniques such
as stochastic processes, queueing theory, mathematical programming,
simulations, and petri-net.

4) Management Information System

The MIS Laboratory has two main objective for the graduate
studies. The first objective is to achieve a comprehensive
view of information systems development related to technical
and human knowledge. The second objective is giving the strategical
view toward business and national economy. The ultimate goal
of the MIS Lab is training the graduate student not only as
a capable MIS person or a consultant but also as a leader
of society with a keen mind and a warm heart.

The Human Factors Engineering Laboratory concentrates on education
and research in human factors engineering, the study of work,
and the efficiency and safety of the human-machine system.
Our laboratory provides advanced computer-aided facilities
for the study of nuclear issues in human factors engineering,
human-computer interface, biomechanics, work physiology, cumulative
trauma disorder, safety analysis, and product liability and
safety.

Research Overview
The CAD/CAM Laboratory conducts research in developing various
applications for design and manufacturing processes by integrating
AI techniques. It utilizes methodologies such as database,
data mining, neural network, fuzzy logic, and optimization.
It also extends the scope of research to the Internet based
application where a virtual environment for design and manufacturing
is constructed and simulated. Through this research, a reduction
in overall production time and cost can be achieved while
the required quality is maintained.

Economic System Analysis Laboratory (TEESA)

Research Overview
The major research mission of the TEESA Lab is the economic
and managerial analysis of technological and engineering systems.
In particular, we develop economic evaluation methodologies
for strategic decision-making in the investment of technological
innovation such as R&D, manufacturing system, and information
system. As main methodologies we attempt to apply DEA, AHP,
Real options and Game theory for analyzing and improving the
efficiency of technological system. Recently, we have been
focusing on the topics regarding the economics of telecommunication,
technology strategy, technology valuation, and R&D project
selection.

The research objective of the QUAD laboratory is to develop
a general framework for effectively and efficiently monitoring,
diagnosing, and controlling variability in data-rich and/or
information-rich environments such as the manufacturing and
service industries and computer and network systems for quality
and reliability improvement. Current research interests are
in the areas of six sigma, data mining, design for manufacturing,
statistical process control, internet security, and integration
